Middlewood Lock, Manchester
The development of Middlewood Locks is set to transform a huge derelict site at the heart of Salford into a new, vibrant quarter of the city where people will be able to live, work and enjoy themselves. It will bring 9 hectares of despoiled land back into use through the creation of a new 2,700,000 sq ft mixed use development. Middlewood Locks will be an important catalyst in the regeneration of the new Central Salford URC area, home to 3,350 people and supporting 5,500 jobs Martin Band was the Design and Planning team coordinator, responsible for the Masterplanning of the site and the planning application approved in 2007. As part of the application a full EIA was prepared together with a comprehensive Design Code document. |
